That's remarkable! You are among the fortunate ones. Yet many home gardeners find that their native soil is not ideal or desirable to grow food in for one reason or another. For example, the soil may have poor drainage or otherwise crummy composition such as excessive. You'll need to heavily work and change those sort of soils before planting.
Because case, you 'd likely want to avoid planting in it at all. Our native soil is extremely silty. It does not have structure, air pockets for microbial life, and water runs straight off the leading unless it is already thoroughly saturated, which takes a here lot of effort to do. Therefore, we always mix in an excellent quantity of garden compost and bagged soil when we plant trees or shrubs straight in the ground.

Now obviously this advantage will vary depending upon how deep you construct your raised garden beds. Likewise, what you set up the beds on top of if anything. In general, I always suggest an outright raised garden beds. If the raised beds have a bottom, are blocked by weed barrier fabric below (we'll get to that), or are otherwise sitting on a strong surface area, I highly suggest creating beds that are least.
Deeper beds also much better than shallow beds, and are more than in-ground beds. An in-ground garden bed inherently has "deep" soil too.
